“I heard God calling me when I was young, but as I grew up I wanted to taste and
experience life. After years of living for the moment, I found myself still hungry for more and for meaning.
I was there on 9-11 and worked at Ground Zero the following week,...
...and that experience shook my world and made me realize I was not ready to die and that the only
important thing in life was to be ready to die every day. I wanted commitment, either to get married
or to seek God's call that I heard many years before, so I went to a spiritual director, who taught
me how to pray and to confess regularly. I was blown away at God's personal love for a prodigal son
such as myself, and I heard Him call me again to come follow Him.”

| What is drawing you to the priesthood?: | What is drawing you to the priesthood: The mystery of Jesus Christ and a hunger to love and to be free. Also, I desire the challenge and the adventure of suffering and joy that I've found so far in seeking to live the Gospel. Ultimately, I find it joyful to see and to help people encounter God's love, mercy, and freedom, and I want to do that with my life. | |
