Real Lives >> Fr. Stephen Norton

“I have been a priest since 2001, but before that I was a teaching brother for almost 20 years. I was drawn to the priesthood because I often had the chance to have people come to share their lives with me and I would often have to say to them, “You can go to a priest and tell him the story...
...in order to gain God's forgiveness.” I felt badly that I had to send them to someone else and so believed that God was calling me to the priesthood in and through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

I am the head of one of our Archdiocesan high schools and love being involved in education. But the most wonderful thing about being a priest is being able to celebrate the Mass. To be able to bring Jesus Christ down to earth on the altar for my salvation and the world’s is a wonderful and powerful gift. My greatest joy in life is being a priest; I cannot imagine being happier."
